Desired results of the job:

The Area Manager is responsible for the effective leadership, operational management, business development and initiatives and overall profitability of their assigned area. This position will be accountable for achieving the objectives of their area. The Area Manager will have an operational and sales focus and is responsible for budget preparation and cost management and ensuring the development, tracking and reporting of sales working in collaboration with peers to achieve the financial goals of the District and Region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing daily operations and sales, including, but not limited to:

Operation of Facility

  • Logistics associated with disposals, slop oil transfers, oil purchases and sales
  • Scheduling routine maintenance and ensuring correct operation and maintenance of rotating equipment schedule and coordinate cleaning of receiving tanks, washout station, and storage tanks for maximum throughput
  • Establish procedures and metrics to ensure fresh water conservation and salt water recycling
  • Develop a continuous improvement plan for maximizing the number of potential daily washouts
  • Responsible for radiation surveys and ensuring NORM material is handled appropriately
  • Perform spinout( “shakeout”) test to determine percent of liquids and solid materials received
  • Perform washout and completion inspection on trucks to ensure customer standards are achieved
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward quarterly and annual goals and objectives
  • Maintain daily inventory logs of water, oil and solids in every tank and communicate to District/Regional office

Maintenance and Equipment

  • Ensure proper operation of equipment (pumps, tanks) can separate water, material, and basic solids
  • Purchase parts for plant as needed

Tickets and Internal Documentation

  • Prepare pre-tickets and SitePro tickets
  • Reconcile activity for completeness of population and accuracy
  • Monitor compliance

Customer Service and Sales

  • Align local sales strategies with overall sales strategies and company goals to develop new customers, including research and cold calling
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activities
  • Present and sell company services to current and potential clients
  • Investigate and resolve customer and/or supplier quality problems
  • Maintain existing accounts and develop new clients in the area to ensure high level of customer satisfaction
  • Obtain approval signatures on tickets and assist in collections from area customers
  • Foster and enhance public recognition of the company through projecting a favorable image of the company, promoting corporate goals and objectives and upholding all of its areas of endeavor
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and subcontractors for the purpose of the successful completion of projects

Supervision

  • Maintain open communication with the team; report findings to Director of Oil Operations regarding achievements, necessary changes in goals or objectives and plant improvement
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through coaching, training and development
  • Hire, train, motivate, schedule and lead staffing of site
  • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working environment to maximize employee morale and productivity
  • Develop individuals for future advancement

Safety

  • Partner with Operations Services Supervisor on safety content; conduct weekly safety meetings; track safety meeting attendance, employee compliance and report to District/Regional office
  • Develop safety project list and coordinate completion of approved projects
  • Ensure all personnel are in compliance with Health, Environmental and Safety Training requirements
  • Report and track accidents/incidents and follow up with written reports to management and HR
  • Establish zero incident targets for improvement in safety;

Compliance with Company Policies and Regulatory Requirements

  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and all applicable regulations according to state license requirements and Company Guidelines
  • Maintain a proactive approach to regulatory permit compliance to avoid negative impacts to the business and to capture opportunities.
  • Ensure that environmental permits, reports, plans and other environmental requirements are complete, current, properly implemented and that reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all environmental incidents are promptly and properly reported, investigated, and documented and that corrective action items are completed within appropriate time frames.

Performs other duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

 


Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Experience in Oil industry required
  • Proficiency starting up and managing oilfield service related facilities
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and capable of leadership by example
  • Works well with management, peers and subordinates
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff
  • Self-motivated drive to help “the team” improve through people, process and technology.
  • Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
