satellite operations manager

Reports to Director of Operations

Desired results of the job:

Facilitate process improvement in all areas with a focus on strategy, competitive improvement, innovation at satellite facilities and provide oversight of all field operations for satellites.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operations of the satellites, including, but not limited to:
  • Scheduling trucks for oil pickup and fresh water loads
  • Schedule and coordinate cleaning of tank washout station
  • Coordinate the offload of E & P waste to the tank farm
  • Test tank bottoms
  • Ensure water available for maximum number of possible daily washouts
  • Schedule crew for tank cleaning, tank parts
  • Writing and reconciling all tickets
  • Take radiation surveys
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment, purchase parts for plant as needed.
  • Operate equipment (pumps, tanks) to physically separate water, material, and basic solids
  • Organize the disposal of the water and basic solids
  • Help identify locations for future satellite facilities
  • Assist in designing and building future satellite locations
  • Foster and enhance public recognition of the company through:
    • Projecting a favorable image of the company
    • Promoting corporate goals and objectives
    • Upholding all of its areas of endeavor
  • Maintain open communication with the team and report findings to Director of Oil Operations regarding achievements, necessary changes in goals or objectives and plant improvement
  • Establish challenging targets for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee relations
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward goals and objectives
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and subcontractors for the purpose of the successful completion of projects
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development
  • Performs all necessary supervisor functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned:
    • Maintains a qualified staff
    • Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned
    • Ensure proper training of personnel assigned
    • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working environment to maximize employee morale and productivity
  • Develop individuals for future advancement
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximize employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and all applicable regulations according to state license requirements and Company Guidelines
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Experience in Oil industry required
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Proficiency starting up and managing oilfield service related facilities
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be highly motivated with good communication skills and capable of leadership by example
  • Works well with management, peers and subordinates
  • Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
