Crude Oil Tank Bottom and Produced Water Management
Crude oil tank bottoms and associated produced water is primarily a disposal decision. Normally producers pick from a number of options which, to date, mainly include getting rid of the materials in a surface impoundment or land application. From time to time and depending on the value of oil, “reclaimers” skim some good oil to sell to “blenders”.
Previous tank bottom management approaches have added up to a substantial loss in environmental and resource conservation terms. Sustainable exploration and production programs will ultimately be influenced by water and oil conservation demands.
The H2Oil alternative maximizes quality recovery of oil. This is an expensive but environmentally sound approach to resource management. And the fact that our six step process recovers oil enables us to charge less than conventional disposal methods while yielding a more environmentally responsible result. Water recovery and production of 10# brine likewise assure conservation in water scarce areas.
